NSCAO invites YOU to the Sickle Cell seminar in November 2009

Before long it will be November and the Norwegian Sickle Cell Organisation will hold its year's information's seminar for this year on Saturday, the 7th November 2009 and more than ever, we need your audience.

Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that most commonly affects persons whose ancestors come from Africa, South or Central America, Caribbean islands, Mediterranean countries (e.g., Turkey, Greece, and Italy), India, and Saudi Arabia.

Norwegian Sickle Cell Organization's overall objective is to enhance the quality of life for people with sickle cell disease and their families by:

· Increasing their awareness and knowledge on sickle cell anemia providing them with information on treatment offers which is available in Norway

· Works towards reducing stigma and discrimination which causes psychological problems

In order to achieve this goal, NSCAO acts as an advocate for improved health care and services for sickle cell patients and by informing the community through outreach programs and projects.

What?: The Norwegian Sickle cell Organization holds its 2nd information annual seminar in Norway.

When?: Saturday, 07th of November 2009. Registration and other preliminaries begin

promptly at 10 Am. The event kicks off at exactly 11am

Where?: FOKUS (Forum For Kvinner og Utviklingsspørsmål), Storgata 11, 5th Floor.

Purpose?: To raise awareness to patients and their families.
